How We Played Today

Today we started the day by coin sorting using this printable from Teach Beside Me.
Then our pennies were dirty, so we cleaned them with lemon juice.
Then they smelled like lemon juice so we had to wash them in the sink. After an hour they were finally clean enough for us to be happy with them.
Next we colored with markers on coffee filters.
And used an eye-dropper with water to make the colors spread.
We were only going to make 4, but we ended up making a few more than that.
Finally we scrunched them together with pipe cleaners and turned them into flowers as a centerpiece for our table.
Our lunch was a sunshine made of veggies, chips, and hummus.
We still had a lot of energy so we headed to the dollar store and to the park to play football on the baseball field. Throw the ball, run the bases, slide and yell "Touchdown!"

How We Played Today

Today we put on our socks and went figure skating in the living room.
We watched this video of the 2010 gold medal figure skater.
The kiddos had fun dancing, twirling, trying to hold one leg in the air, but mostly just sliding around in their socks and giggling when they fell down.

Lunch was a sailboat on the water... pb&j, half a pancake, a carrot, a chip, 4 raisins.

Teacher Appreciation Gift

We have had the best preschool teacher this year! I made this teacher gift and put a Sonic gift card in the envelope with a painting my son made of him eating s'mores with his teacher.

Here's the printable if you'd like to use it. I printed mine on a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" envelope.

Pink Kettle Corn with Nonpareils

Pink kettle corn with nonpareils served in jadeite. Yup, what Lori likes!

1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup popping corn
pink gel food coloring
kosher salt
nonpareils

Mix oil, sugar, popping corn, food coloring and salt in a stovetop kettle corn popper. After popping sprinkle the nonpareils on the still-sticky kettle corn. Yum!
